I do believe we need to re-evaluate the meaning of "personal website".  As far as I know, it implies that the creator and owner of any given personal website has the right to post anything on it that he or she desires, whether that means links to other sites, profanity, or images/attitudes/thoughts that are not "consistent with the Biblical principles and mission of..." any established institution.

So no, I absolutely will not be removing references to your institution from my personal website, nor will I be editing the content of my personal website, since my personal website is mine to do with as I please.  In addition, the legal trouble that you may or may not face if I do not edit my personal website is not my problem, and official representative or not, I will use your name (official or unofficial) if I so desire.  I am not interested in protecting your reputation or legal standing.

So thank you for taking the time to articulate your concerns, but I'll not be responding to your requests in the way that you prefer.  If you have a problem with the content of my personal website, feel free to consult the First Amendment.

I'm leaving for SLR in a few hours... I'll be back in a couple of days.

Tonight I saw the most breathtaking sunset.  The sun was already below the horizon and therefore out of sight, but its aftermath was simply amazing.  Kazia and I came out of Lowell Hall laughing and talking (and throwing around her keys), but were interrupted by the western sky.  We sat on the steps to stare at this pale blue sky streaked with gold; it looked like the ocean.  As we were leaving, we saw someone taking pictures of the sky, and someone else walking backwards while talking on his cell phone so that he could watch this stationary heaven, as if any second it would completely disappear.  Kazia and I stopped walking, even though we'd just been staring at this sky for the previous ten minutes, and it was as if all affected mankind froze in the midst of their busyness to capture the beauty of this sky.  The backwards-walker hung up his phone and just gazed at the morphing colors, and the photographer paused to study her subject, and I was in awe.  I couldn't get enough.

I happened to glance at the northern sky and noticed that even though there was nothing special going on over there, the fact that the west was reflected in it made it beautiful.  And I'm cursed with a relentless recognition of symbolism, so I couldn't help but look for similarities between the sky and life.

And God is breathtaking... glorious... and even though there's nothing special or spectacular about us... but when we are reflecting what's going on with Him, we're beautiful.

I'm so easily amused.  Today I was walking home through the church parking lot, and I casually glanced underneath a car and saw these teeny little squirrel legs ambling along.  I thought to myself, "that might be the cutest thing ever."

Simple minds, eh?

Random conversation from today:
Jennifer:  "What's your topic for the poster presentation?"
Me:  "Self-injury"
Jennifer:  "Self-injury?  Oh, like self-mutilation?"

No, self-injury.  I said what I said... jerk...   What knowledgeable (on this subject) person would use the term "mutilation"?
